I once read that the three little words women long to hear most are: "You've lost weight." Alas, no one can say that to me, especially after the holiday season, when it seemed like I baked more than usual (which is a lot by most people's standards) and ate more than usual (ditto).
Part of the reason for the good and plentiful eats, however, was because my hub and I both had 12 days off, and we both like to cook and eat (though he stays thin--I like to say he eats and I gain the weight). Anyway, one of the benefits of us both being home with nowhere to rush off to in the morning is that I often awoke to my favorite three little words from hubby: "I made coffee."
And that got me thinking about other favorite three-word sentences.
From your mother: "I made cookies."
From your children: "Mom, I'm home."
From your girlfriends: "Let's have lunch." (Actually, the best would be a six-word sentence: "I know just what you mean.")
From your boss: "Here's your raise." (Or, in this economy, "Job well done" will suffice.)
From your child's teacher: "He's/She's a pleasure."
From your doctor: "Test results normal."
From your mechanic: "There's no charge." (Unless he's talking about the battery.)
So, what are your three favorite words? And from whom? Leave a comment and on Thursday I'll give away a little bag of vintage goodies/found objects to the winner.
My favorite is by far from my soon to be husband, "I love you" simple and sweet.

My favorite is "I'm going home" whether it's at the end of a work day or as I'm getting into my car to visit my parents. Sadly, they have both gone to their reward, so I can't say it in that context any more, but the feeling still remains.

GO FORTH,CREATE!the most inspiring three words from Marilynn my girlfriend in 2001 when I was moving cross country withOUT any of my art supplies. She was busy at her art booth during the farmers market, yet she had time to hug me, whisper those three words in my ear and then placed a tiny envelope in my hand. With a huge smile we parted. I opened it on the airplane. It was an unmounted rubber art stamp. A gift that opened my artistic heart that felt so disjointed, so closed, so broken. But those 3 words GO FORTH, CREATE! opened a new floodgate of creativity for me!

My three favorite words from my one and only granddaugher, the light of my life are, "Up, Nona, up!" because it means she wants me to hold her. She isn't even two.
But, the words I am waiting to hear are, "Hey, Happy Retirement!" I've heard them said to others, and now I'm up for my turn. I'll take those from anyone who wants to say so. And honestly, reading these after a long day, those were the first three I thought of.

My favorite three words,"Yes I can!" Overcoming hurdles is made easier by having the confidence to say them.

My children are growing up and are becoming very independent. Sometimes I don't feel as needed as I use to be until my children come to me and say,"I need help".
This reminds me that my children will always need me :)

from my hubby: Hello, lost fish.
from my best friend: let's get coffee (she doesn't drink coffee -- it's shorthand for let's go out and chat ...)

"I get it!" brings a smile to my lips whenever one of my 4th grade students says it.

IT'S ON SALE!!!! Best three words to hear.
Worst three words to hear "Are you pregnant" When you haven't been for 10 years. Yikes, time for Jenny Craig.

As a working woman with a retired husband, I love to hear three-word sentences that tell me someone else has figured out what we're having for dinner:
--Dinner is served.
--Let's go out.
--I made chili.
And as I walk in the door after a long day:
--Here's your wine.

I'm currently doing consulting - so in these hard times I really like to hear "Job is yours". Haven't heard that in a while!
Like others - "It's on sale" (especially for craft/art goodies) is music to my ears!

"Be kind anyway" my pastor always says this in his closing prayer...of course with a lot of other flowering message....this part sticks with me.
