Maybe it's the forever-winter. Maybe it's the approaching birthday (you have 28 shopping days left). Maybe it's just the time of life. But I feel like trying something new. I've been digging out the self-help books, making more lists, keeping a journal.
One thing on my mind is that think I want to give this blog a new/better/different focus. Any thoughts?
I romance the idea of seeing more of YOUR art....a peek inside your journal? maybe a self portrait? how about a favorite recipe? More Cate.

I LOVE your blog! As is! But whatever you do next is likely to be even more interesting, so you go, girl. It occurs to me that I may have a different take on this than some of your other readers, since I've known you for years and we've shared so many of lifes joys and terrors. With our current life situations, we can't tootle around the Cotswolds together, and we rarely even see one another (can it really be three years??) so the blog gives me a window into your life with Nick and the girls, your home decorating projects, your writing, and your observations about life and the world. Thank you!

thanks for the comment! yes, I LOVE your book!!! I can't say that I've tried another self portrait yet, because I bought so many new books at the same time, I'm kinda skipping around with my projects:) Tonight is collage (Collage Journeys) but when I am feeling in the self portrait mood again, I'm going to try something different. I love to just read what all the different artists wrote too, even when I'm not ready to try a new project. I showed my mom my self portrait and she said she liked it, but that I made myself look allot older than I really do. Probably because I SEE myself that way?
Well, I'm glad you commented, because I'm enjoying your blog:)
have a great evening, and hope to chat with you again-
Trish

My thoughts are that whatever you decide to do... will be fine with me! Just don't ever change. xox

I think you should revamp your blog so it's all about ME. I can't believe you didn't think of that sooner.

Okay, the teacher in me is coming out now. Happy-soon-to-be-birthday, first of all! Since blogs are about anything and everything, I do give you permission to continue as-is and go on typing about anything that comes to mind. Or you can sit around with whatever is your favorite thing to eat and drink as a snackie and mull it over. What is it that you want to accomplish this year personally? Forget the stuff at work. Forget about what other people expect from you. What do you really want to do for youself? Blog about that. I blog about the stuff I want to really blog about. I leave my school stuff out of my blog - most of the time anyway. I blog about my art. I blog about technique - which I love to share. I am pretty tongue-in-cheek. I like to question things and ponder life's little mysteries. I continually quest for the perfect purse. I am not very girly but I have a thing for purses. Okay, that was a tangent that I just threw in there because I just looked at my Lucky Brand purse that I ABSOLUTELY LOVE(for the moment)!!!There is nothing saying that your blog's focus cannot change. Blog something that you do for a year. Do something virtual and blog about it. Involve a bunch of people in a project and blog about it. Write a non-art related book and blog about it while you are doing it. What do you do when you are not taking care of your family and not doing what you do at work? Me? I am definitely not sleeping. You could do a different survey every week. You could see what kinds of sewing machines people have. Try recipes and blog about it. Chica, I DARE you to blog about something that you really want to do, something out of the ordinary, something that you really want to do, something that really makes you happy. Even if it is for a little while. Even if you are happy right now, what would be something that would make you really, really happy? You should tell us - someone might send it to you as a birthday present. LOL!

always the teacher
